1. Definitions

1.1. Hotel: Suitehotel De Posthoorn, Noordeinde 43, 1141 AG Monnickendam.
1.2. Guest: any natural or legal person using the services of the hotel.
1.3. Reservation: an agreement between the hotel and the guest for accommodation and/or additional services.
1.4. Cancellation: termination of the reservation by the guest via e-mail.
1.5. No-show: failure of the guest to arrive without prior cancellation by e-mail.

2. Applicability

2.1. These general terms and conditions apply to all reservations, offers and agreements between the hotel and the guest.
2.2. Deviations are only valid if confirmed by e-mail.
2.3. The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry (UVH) apply in addition to these terms.

3. Reservations and Confirmation

3.1. A reservation is concluded once confirmed by the hotel via e-mail or through a reservation system.
3.2. The guest is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
3.3. The hotel reserves the right to refuse reservations without stating a reason.

4. Payment Terms

4.1. Payments must be made prior to or upon arrival, unless otherwise confirmed by e-mail.
4.2. The hotel may require a deposit or credit card guarantee.
4.3. In the event of late payment, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation.
4.4. All prices include VAT and exclude tourist tax, unless stated otherwise.

5. Cancellation and No-show

5.1. Cancellations must be made by e-mail.
5.2. For individual reservations:

  • Free cancellation up to 4 days before arrival.

  • If cancelled within 4 days before arrival or in the case of a no-show, 100% of the total amount will be charged.
    5.3. For group reservations (3 rooms or more), separate cancellation conditions apply and will be confirmed by e-mail.
    5.4. No refund will be given for early departure.

6. Check-in and Check-out

6.1. Check-in: 15:00 – 23:00.
6.2. Check-out: until 11:00 on the day of departure.
6.3. Late check-out is only possible upon agreement and e-mail confirmation and may incur extra charges.
6.4. Failure to arrive on the expected arrival date will be considered a no-show.

7. House Rules and Liability

7.1. Guests must comply with the hotel’s house rules.
7.2. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the hotel. Violation will result in a €250 fine per room.
7.3. Pets are not allowed unless confirmed by e-mail.
7.4. The hotel is not liable for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings.
7.5. Guests are liable for any damage to the hotel and its property caused by their actions or negligence.

8. Force Majeure

8.1. The hotel is not liable for shortcomings caused by force majeure, such as fire, power failure, pandemics, strikes or government measures.
8.2. In the event of force majeure, the hotel may cancel or reschedule the reservation free of charge.

9. Complaints

9.1. Any complaints must be reported at the reception or by e-mail as soon as possible during the stay.
9.2. The hotel will treat complaints seriously and aim for an appropriate solution.
